The Site will be on the premises of Honda of the UK Manufacturing Limited (?Honda UK") located at Highworth Road, South Marston, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN3 4TZ. - The Consortium (TEPCO and NGK) will provide the service from a Sodium Sulfur (NAS®) battery system with Power Conversion System (PCS) (rated capacity: 10MW (short-time rating: 11MW) /60MWh) and control system which will be fully commissioned by TEPCO and NGK. The system can be configured to provide two alternative service arrangements. One is to provide Balancing Services of Enhanced or Firm Frequency Response as well as an energy delivery service for Capacity Market, and the other is to provide triad avoidance service to its customer (Honda) during the time except service period of Frequency Response Services in Winter. The NAS battery is commercially produced by NGK and more than 530 MW and 3700 MWh have been installed globally. The NAS battery has been used by more than 190 customers and has been used in similar applications in many installations. The assets comprise 10MW (short-time rating: 11 MW)/60MWh of battery modules, which will be packaged in bespoke shipping containers with built-in battery management system, connected to a system controller and a power conversion system. The assets are connected to the 33 kV network connection through an existing connection on the premises of Honda of the UK Manufacturing Limited. of approximately 4500 m2 required for minimum ground works. In accordance with the terms of the Capacity Market Rules, if the Applicant?s Bid is successful then the Applicant will incorporate a special purpose vehicle company (to be incorporated in England and Wales) (?JVCO?), and the Applicant intends, subject to the approval of EMR Delivery Body, for the Capacity Market Contract to be entered into between EMR Delivering Body and JVCO.
